Marcello's Room

Marcello is a lucky kid. When we started working together to create his first "big boy" room, we wanted his love of rainbows to guide us. His parents involved him in nearly every aspect of the renovation and as a result he feels a sense of ownership and pride. He's lucky to have parents that are such good listeners, and truly respect his choices.

But he's lucky for another reason...shortly after the room was complete, his baby sister was born. And now he's not just a big boy, but he's also a big brother.

Our friends at the Manila House were looking for ways to modernize their 1911 craftsman bungalow while retaining some of the special features that make it, well, a craftsman! We updated the entryway, living room, dining room, and renovated the bathroom. Our palette was neutral and included bold contrasts of black and white with pops of color for balance.
